Description:
Betagarri have published a total of eight albums. 'Basque Fire,' their first German release, is a cross-section of four albums. Betagarri performed their first German concert in the spring of 2005 - which is when Jaro discovered them.
Biography:
Melodies, message, rhythm and fiesta - those are the ingredients Betagarri know how to combine perfectly. The result: a fiery mixture of ska straight from the Basque country. The band has already been around for more than twelve years, and performed over five hundred live shows far beyond the borders of their native Basque land. Various tours have taken them all over Europe and even to Japan.
It all started in late 1992, in the Basque town of Vitoria-Gasteiz, which also happens to be the birthplace of nearly all the members of Betagarri. Apart from the drummer, all the band members have been together since the very start. The lineup comprises vocals, two guitars, bass and drums, supported by a large horn section to provide a full sound, especially on the concert stage.
