When we awaken to the call of Beauty, we become aware of new ways of being in the world. Originally, we were created to be creators. At its deepest heart, creativity was meant to serve and evoke Beauty. When this desire and capacity comes alive, new wells awaken in parched ground; difficulty becomes invitation; and rather than striving against the grain of our nature, we fall into rhythm with its deepest urgency and passion. This is why the time is ripe for Beauty to surprise and liberate us.
John ODonohue (1956-2008) In early January 2008, the Sounds True family was deeply saddened by the loss of the Irish poet-philosopher John ODonohue. John was a one-of-a-kind force of nature: a genius with words, a brilliant thinker, and a professional excavator of the soul. He will truly be missed.
John ODonohue was an Irish poet and Catholic scholar who was awarded a Ph.D. in philosophical theology from the University of Tubingen. He wrote several books including Anam Cara; Air: Breath of God; Stone as the Tabernacle of Memory; Water: The Tears of the Earth; and Echoes of Memory, a book of poems. John authored the Sounds True audio programs Anam Cara, Beauty: The Invisible Embrace, and Wisdom from the Celtic World. His final work was To Bless the Space Between Us, a collection of Celtic invocations and blessings.
