Whilst the first ever instrumental disc in the Sona Rupa record-label series, Divinity, introduced new instrumental compositions of well-known, much loved age-old Bhajans; truly a sublime rendition of our prayers in music, Divinity 2 traversed similar grounds but highlighted the sacredness of particular musical instruments and the Indian classical raags frequently used in Bhajans and Kirtans.
Here, in Divinity 3, the underlying theme of devotion, meditation and salvation continues. Through some of the myriad well-known spiritual and devotional compositions of ancient and modern times, a varied collection of traditional Indian and western instruments again creates an aura of sublime bliss, a sense of wonderment, ecstasy and Unity with the Divine. Biography:
Rakesh Chaurasia is the nephew and disciple of the legendary flautist Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia. Adept at playing the popular and folk music, he is equally at home in the Indian classical genre. In Sona Rupa's Mind, Body & Soul Collection Series, this very gifted flautist has already made his mark on the international scene with Solo and collaborative tracks in various albums.
