Garden is an album inspired by and in praise of the natural world. The album moves through many textures and moods, reflecting the diverse nature of the Earth spirit - the still of Winter, the brilliant dazzle of the Spring sun, the rampant heaving of Summer vegetation and the death of Autumn.
We were delighted to feature on this cd, performances from three outstanding musicians we have met while touring. Greg Willow plays a delicate drum part on Jakdo and Shadume. Jo Quail plays a haunting and surreal cello part in Nocoj, creating sounds that we never thought were possible. And, finally Matt Kelly treats us to some rare gypsy cadences on Shadume.
The Garden cd includes a video clip of two songs from Pinknruby's open air performance in Brocéliande, France plus photographs taken at the performance.
Pinknruby are Slovene singer Mihaela Repina and English guitarist Paul Bradbury. Their songs, sparkling and faeryesque, engender a dreamlike state in the listener. The sensual and melancholic voice of Mihaela will enchant Cocteau Twins and Flëur fans.
