Description:
This healing and harmonizing music is based on I Ching, the 5000-year-old Asiatic symbol language, the Book of Changes. Each of the eight trigrams have been characteristically interpreted in contemporary musical compositions. The musical conception is based on the two fundamental symbols of YIN and YANG, illustrated with two diagrams in the booklet to show the connection with I Ching and Chinese medicine. As a meditative self-healing therapy, Master Wang's QiGong book is also based on this ancient taoism, on the Tai Chi conception of the relationship between body and soul. Chinese medicine uses an energy-meridian system working on several levels. With its efficient methods of therapy (Acupuncture, Acupressure and Shiatsu), Chinese Medicine has introduced new dimensions to our Western approach. The nervous system connects the body, consisting of 206 bones, to the brain. The fact that the stimulating exercises with various acupuncture points via 54 hand and finger bones reach a quarter of our brain explains the healing effects on our inner organs. Master Wang recommends meditative music with its relaxing influence in order to support the therapeutic effects of the exercises. Each of these eight tracks offers a wholesome harmony with the appropriate finger exercises in a stimulating atmosphere. South Germany based composer, arranger and musician Frank Steiner Jr. and producer and sound engineer Ulrich Gitschier worked with several musicians using acoustic and electronic instruments for this eclectic fusion of 'east meets west' type of classical crossover, contemplative symphony.
Biography:
Frank Steiner, Jr. was born in Freiburg, Germany in 1966. There he studied classical piano, trumpet and music theory. After experimenting on numerous musical projects and playing with a wide variety of groups, Steiner founded his own jazz-rock group. He now focuses primarily on composing.
In 1990 Steiner met Ulrich Gitschier, a producer and studio owner in South Germany, with whom he became friend and collaborator. From Gitschier he learned the backgrounds of Far Eastern religions, cultural roots and music. Steiner was fascinated with his newfound knowledge, especially Indian and Chinese music and began to compose works with these ethnic influences.
