Steve Haun creates a sound that is bigger than life yet still retains a special quality of warmth and intimacy.
This recording includes special guest Nelson Rangell and a live string section with members of the Denver Symphony Orchestra.
Steve Haun came to music early, beginning on both violin and piano when he was five: only a year later he won first place in a composition contest sponsored by the Music College of the University of Kansas. When he was seven, his family moved to Boulder, Colorado, where he continued to study, compose and perform. He also continued to win awards, including citations from the Colorado State Music Teacher's Association and the Boulder Philharmonic Young Artist's Competition, as well as a music scholarship to the University of Colorado.
In the mid-80's, Steve began to explore multi-track composition, playing all the parts and recording them at home with cassette decks and sequencers. With these demos as a foundation, Steve and local Boulder producer/engineer Kip Kuepper went into the recording studio for three months and emerged with the tracks that were to become Inside the Sky. The recording proceeded to reach the Top 20 in both Billboard and major NAC radio charts.
