Description:

Before you can help others, Thich Nhat Hanh teaches, you must first bring peace and a deep love of life into your own consciousness. On this breakthrough workshop especially for psychotherapists, Thich Nhat Hanh explores how to find and nourish an inner peacefulness and maintain it through the day - no matter what your caseload is. Mindfulness and Psychotherapy includes an illuminating discussion of how to work with anger, in which Thich Nhat Hanh recommends breathing and walking meditation as more beneficial in many situations than directly expressing anger. 2.75 hours

Biography:

Thich Nhat Hanh is a Zen master in the Vietnamese tradition, scholar, poet and peace activist. He is the founder of the Van Hanh Buddhist University in Saigon and has taught at Columbia University and the Sorbonne. Thich Nhat Hanh is the author of the national bestseller Living Buddha, Living Christ and over 60 other books. He was nominated for the 1967 Nobel Peace Prize by Martin Luther King, Jr. Since that time, he has developed a special way of teaching the dharma (essential Buddhist truths) in the West - a way that addresses the spiritual challenges unique to our day, while honoring all faiths. The seeds of internal and external peace are already inside you, he teaches. You need only learn to contact and nurture them. This is the path to transcending fear and anger; this is the path to a more peaceful world.
