Dedicated to George Orwell and Aldous Huxley. The vision of a digital era is increasingly becoming more and more of a reality. The presentiments concerning the consequences of networking and communication possibilities are becoming a certainty. George Orwell's spectacular novel and social-political apocalypse '1984' is becoming a reality. The production team 'Control Company' was founded in 1980 under the guidance of Hubert Bognermayr and Ulrich Ruetzel on the occasion of the Ars Electronica in Linz/Austria. The goal of this team was to observe the social-political development for a period of 15 years in the spirit of Orwell and Huxley and to transpose it into timeless rock music. The texts of the German Singer/Songwriter Mox Rinehart describe a mirror image of the conditions, events and feelings of an Orwellian society, with reference to our spirit of the age. The well known musicians like Curt Cress, drums, Günter Gebauer, bass and Bruno Spoerri, Lyricon let their human touch flow on the rhythmical analogue-synthesizer-patterns created by the electronic musicians team of Hubert Bognermayr. Presently there is a bonanza atmosphere among Internet users and the super-national media companies that have been reduced to a bare handful. We are automatically reminded of Aldous Huxley and his 'Brave New World'; the tracks 1,4,7,10,11, produced with high tech computer systems are dedicated to him. The 'Multi Medi@ Mania©s' sit in front of their monitors and enjoy digital indulgence, but still without the fervently awaited 'cyber cinema'. Our 'Soma' is the monitor, or the joy experienced after really 'visiting' someone in Internet. And 'Ford' is Bill Gates.
