While dominated, as with many Latin American countries, by the ever-popular salsa, merengue and pop, Venezuelan music is also comprised of the rich folk traditions of llanera, Afro-Venezuelan music, parranda and others. With a diverse landscape including the Andes, the Amazon jungle and a Caribbean coastline, the country has hundreds of unique musical styles, with each village having their own instruments and rhythms.
