You can read this type of 'realistic poetry' after opening the CD-booklet. Describing JENS FISCHER as a 'realistic poet'-big city musician hits the nail on the head. This composer, guitarist and sound tinkerer derives his artistic energy from this socio-cultural melting pot, his 'music from all 4 corners of the universe' is created in this urban jungle, and, in turn, the earthly, driving rhythms, charged with energy, warm blues or sharp solo guitar, unusual melodies, exotic charming ethno-sounds and witty arrangements are created. He let the pulse of the city be his sole driving force in his third solo-album. Logically, the feeling needed for jazz is not missing, it is the power in 'Urban Space Man'. Fischer strikes an interesting bridge to his past, to the German/Indian group 'Tri Atma', he obviously helped to set the image of this music. The title 'Pearls & Pictures' - of course in a different arrangement - was meant for a new Tri Atma CD. In the same sphere one finds 'Yummy Moon Special', a new version of the very successful title 'Yummy Moon' from the Tri Atma album 'Ka jakee Music'. Naturally, the Tri Atma bard Asim Saha (Tabla) may not be left out in either of the two titles. However, this album is not so entirely 'solo': after all, one can see that nine guest musicians, including, for example, David Hudson (Didgereedoo) from Australia (the basic track was also recorded there on the occasion of Eberhard Schoeners spectacular satellite concert during the opening celebration of the 1993 track and field world championships) and George Kochbeck (bass), Jens’ long-time musical-partner in various projects, as well as Richard Wester (saxophone and flute) who enriched the 'Urban Space Music' with many solo passages.
