With elements of the ancient nestled comfortably next to the modern, Ziroq's self-titled debut album is a passionate global journey through the Gypsy lands with some surprising stops along the way. Ziroq will appeal to a cross section of listeners including lovers of Flamenco and world music, fans of rock icons from Led Zepplin to Peter Gabriel, and Adult Contemporary listeners. From the flamboyant, flamenco-rock energy of 'Tierra Del Sur' to the sultry, passionate English language single 'Closer To Me' to the moody, exotic North African rhythms of 'Patio Del Moro', Ziroq will draw you in and blow you away...
This Los Angeles-based, multi-national band was formed in 2002 after finding a common ground around the dynamism of lead singer, songwriter and guitarist Marcus Nand. Ziroq is a contemporary Gypsy band that fuses a cutting edge rhythmic approach and a pop sensibility with a cross-section of traditional styles, including Flamenco, Indian and Arabic music. And like the sirocco - the desert wind from which they draw their name - Ziroq is at once soothing and explosive.
